The Bindoon and Districts Historical Society was formed in 1997 primarily to research, foster and maintain heritage sites and memorabilia from within the Shire of Chittering.
For a number of years the Society had been looking for a permanent home in which to house a growing collection, and with the Shire of Chittering asking the Historical Society to be the custodians of the Toppy and John Dickinson collection a larger space needed to be found.
On the 28th June 2010 a new Museum building located within the Brockman Center was opened with plenty of space to display and store Chittering’s history.
Recently, the historical society has developed a rotating display within the main building focusing on World War I.
The Museum is open
Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm.
